About Springline

Springline is an independent reference guide to the world’s most remarkable railway routes. We document each line’s history, engineering, scenery and stations in a clear, factual style.

What we cover

Every profile follows the same structure: a quick-facts card showing the operator, termini, length and gauge, followed by seven sections covering the route’s overview, history, landscape, stations, rolling stock, technical facts and frequently asked questions.

Our approach

Accuracy comes first. We rely on well-known, widely published facts about each railway and deliberately avoid ticket prices, booking advice and promotional claims. Springline is a reference, not a travel agency.

How the site is organised

Routes are grouped by region — Europe, Asia, North America, South America, Africa and Oceania — and listed in a departure-board format on the home page. Each route has a permanent page at a stable address.
